Challenge: I required assistance in optimizing prompt engineering and reducing API costs for my OpenAI-powered Fintech product. Solution: Philip provided a comprehensive solution, recommending structured outputs using Pydantic models and batch APIs to achieve significant cost savings. Additionally, he introduced strategies for managing variable input formats, reducing processing times, and selecting cost-efficient models. Impact: His expert recommendations resulted in up to a 50% reduction in API costs while improving overall performance, and enhancing the scalability and efficiency of my product.

Philip is a great AI Engineer and really knows his stuff! I was once having trouble with an LLM project I was working on, related to semantic similarity. At the time, I was relatively new to LLM Engineering and working under a tight deadline. Philip didn't just offer suggestions to improve my work but generously wrote out a detailed guide covering all the potential paths I could take. He helped me gain clarity on what I should do immediately and also provided ideas for future improvements for my project. Overall, his advice was incredibly thoughtful and comprehensive, and it directly contributed to the successful completion of my project. I couldn't recommend Philip enough if you need help with LLMs—whether you need a builder or just advice—he's your guy!

I worked with Philip for assistance with Generative AI, Automation, and Web Development implementations. Philip brought his expertise in AI engineering, Automation and Web development to provide the help we needed to automate an internal SOP and optimise the performance of a Copywriting GPT. Additionally, he supported in a WordPress and Omniconvert development project. One of our internal Standard Operating Procedures experienced a dramatic transformation. What used to take 60 minutes of human effort now takes ~3 minutes with AI automation — leading to a 100x reduction in operating cost! Even more impressive, this improvement didn't come at the expense of quality; the AI-powered solution maintained high standards of performance. Highly recommend working with him. He is one of the hardest working people I've ever met.

Phil has been working with my team to develop a solution for the Atos/WWF partnership to use machine learning to predict potential future locations for zoonotic disease outbreaks. Phil joined the team following a resourcing change in the new year, picking up from the senior data scientists and working closely with another data science team member. From the outset, Phil demonstrated a sound grasp of the project objectives as well as the detail of the data model that had been developed by his colleague. I was particularly impressed by Phil's ability to rapidly understand the mathematical model and Artificial Neural Network techniques used and explain them to a group of non-technical people on a customer call, which was attended by representatives from the World Wildlife Fund, World Organisation for Animal Health and universities and NGOs based in the study area - the Mekong region of South East Asia. During the course of the project, Phil and his colleague continued to work together to build a predictive model capable of analysing environmental data in both space and time to identify hotspots for potential disease outbreaks. Additionally, Phil was instrumental in coordinating with the software development team in France to align the algorithms developed with the wider data model and process flow, running in a cloud environment. During this project, Phil demonstrated his broad understanding of machine learning, mathematical modelling, software development and Generative AI models, while also acting as a natural communicator and valued team member. I am sure that colleagues in future will find Phil a pleasure to work with and will take advantage of his deep technical knowledge and great communication skills. I wish him every success in the future.
